The Pousada Bizkaia is located in the middle of the Island of Santa Catarina, into the Joaquina Dune National Park at 1400 meters from the best surfing beaches of the island: Joaquina, Mole and Galheta. The lagoon is 300 meters far from the pousada. The Joaquina road is still inhabitated by native people, most of them are fisher. The road cross the dune area when is possible to make a surreal walk os a snowboard descent.
5 minutes walking is the Avenida das Rendeiras (Lace Maker Street) full of bars and restaurants for a happy hours or a wonderful culinary experience. At the end of the Avenida is the ¨Centrinho of the Lagoa¨ where you can find nightlife and shopping for beach and surfing clothes
To reach the pousada is very easy, either from the airport, the bus station or from the motorway BR101. The indication are good and with a little of atention you can reach easily the destination. From the airport or bus station we sugest a taxi, faster than urban bus and not expensive.
The island is about 80 km length and 20 km wide.
We strongly recomend the hire a car. Is the best way to get into all of the 52 beaches of the island. You can save a lot of time and enjoy the trip. The urban bus is also an opcion but you have to spend more time to visit the island. Beaches are not the only attractions of the island. Waters sports such are suf, kite surf, windsuf, diving and trekking are very popular among the inhabitants.
